Carbon Leadership Forum
The Carbon Leadership Forum (CLF) is an industry-academic collaboration hosted at the University of Washington. We are a professional community of manufacturers, designers, builders and academics focused on reducing the carbon ‘embodied’ in building materials.
CLF is working to link the rigor of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) based carbon accounting to industry best practices in order to enable quantifiable reduction to the environmental impact of the built environment. Its research is focused on developing the data, analysis, and standards needed to accurately predict, report, and reduce the carbon impact of building materials and products.
Industry sponsorships fund embodied carbon research at UW and firm representatives lead initiatives. We work together to understand and reduce embodied carbon: leading by testing methods, sharing results and motivating each other to improve.
